Target 101

I love target. I really do. there are several cool things about Target. The first is that they take 2 kinds of coupons. Target coupons and manufacturer coupons...on the same item. That's right, You are absolutely allowed to combine the 2 coupons together.

Real Life Example: A couple months ago Rold Gold Pretzels went on sale for $2 a bag. At the same time target put out a coupon for $1 off any frito lay product (they make these pretzels) and there was a printable $1 coupon for any rold gold pretzel on smartsource.com. $1 target and $1 manu. equals free pretzels. I got 14 bags during that sale and still have about 6 left.

Target also frequently has deals when you buy 2 candles you get a $10 gift card, or whatever. Like this week, If you buy 2 packs of pampers, you get a $5 gift card. You can still use coupons in conjunction with these deals. And, if you want to use the gift card to do the deal again, they will give you another gift card!

Now on to the best part - Target clearance. This store routinely clearances out products that they received only months before. Why? Who cares! I typically try to wait until something is 75% off just because I know that it will within 2 weeks of being 50% off. The best way to find these deals is to shop the endcaps where not a lot of people would walk by.
Right now Target has these shoes that I REALLY want. They are $24, which is a really good price...However...I know that in a month or so, these shoes will go to 30% off and then 1 1/2 weeks later will go to 50% off and that's when I will buy them. I really try not to pay full price for anything at Target, ever.

Here is target's typical markdown schedule:

Mon. — Electronics, Kids Clothing and Stationary
Tues. — Domestics, Women’s Clothing, Pets and Food
Wed. — Men’s Clothing, Toys, Health and Beauty, Lawn & Garden
Thur. — House Wares, Lingerie, Shoes, Sporting Goods, Movies, Music, Books, Decor and Luggage
Fri. — Auto, Cosmetics, Hardware, & Jewelry

And after holiday clearance (except Christmas) follows this schedule:
50% off day after holiday for three days
75% off fourth day after holiday for three days
90% off seventh day after holiday for 1-2 days

They never go lower than 90%, but why would you need them to?
And if you want free candy, just wait until after a holiday, and then take your coupons to target for the 75% off candy.

That's Target - enjoy!

Couponing 101: Part 1

I know the question most people ask first is, "How do I start?!"

I am here to help you out!!

Step 1 - Get coupons.

There are many different sources out there for coupons, and I use most of them.

Newspapers: I do not purchase the Sunday paper. The paper is $3 and I would want at least 2 of them. That is crazy in price, and I am not willing to pay it. In my local area, there are 2 FREE papers that are delivered to my house on Saturdays that carry most of the coupon inserts. They are called The Briefing(section of the Dallas Morning News), and Al Dia (spanish paper). You can call your local paper and see if there are any free Saturday papers that can be delivered.Online: I print a good amount of coupons. I use Coupons.com, Smartsource.com, and redplum.com the most. Target.com also had coupons for in-store deals as well as manufacturer coupons.Inside actual stores: Manufacturers place coupons all over your local grocery store for your pleasure. Peelies, tearpads, blinkies, pamphle…

What is Stitch Fix? Review #1

Today I got my very first stitch fix and I'm so excited! First of all, what is it?

It's a monthly subscription clothing box. You pay $20 for a stylist to pick out some clothes for you based on height, preference, what you post on your Pinterest board, etc. They send you 5 items to try on at home with things you already own and you can pick whatever ones you want to keep. The $20 works as a credit toward anything you keep. You send back the rest and wait for your next box!

I decided to try this out because I don't really have stores for clothes shopping in my area. Plus, it's fun!

Do you want to try it out? Check it out here.

Okay, here is what I got in my first box:

They always send this cool styling card to show how to wear the clothes.

Don't mind my crazy face. These are the Mavi Freida Skinny Jeans.

Paired with the Pixley Tracy Dot Print Cross Back Knit Top

Added my jacket and the Octavia Jolene Zipper Flap Crossbody Bag.

Then I decided to pair with a skirt and …
