March - week 1

Alright, after a very scary few days of an empty fridge, (it was sketchy up in our kitchen) I got to go to Sam's club and Aldi since I was already in the area for a race I did.

I apologize for not laying everything out but it was just one of those crazy times where everyone was exhausted and the food just needed to get put away.

Also, on a side note, I am going vegetarian for 2 weeks starting monday. It's a challenge I'm doing with a group of people and I'm interested to see how it affects my running. (I'm trying to get faster)

Meals for the next 2 weeks (since hubby is going to be gone all this week, plus I bought a lot):

March 2 - Santa fe chicken salad wraps & pears
3 - dinner with neighbors, chili, salad, cornbread. (I'm bringing the cornbread)
4 - broccoli white bean soup
5 - tacos & fruit (bean filling for me)
6 - black bean burgers
7 - sandwiches w/ fruit and veggies
8 - leftovers
9 - vegetarian chili
10 - chili topped baked potatoes (see how I used the leftovers from the night before? I'm smart like that.)
11 - eggplant parm. with homemade marinara
12 - kabobs (all veggie for me)
13 - pasta primavera (chicken with the other's meals, none for me)
14 - Pizza: taco pizza (no meat) and a veggie pizza.
15 - leftovers.

whew! And I spent right at $100 today. Already halfway through my budget but I think we'll be fine. Just no splurging on snack food and goodies! I think I'll make muffins and homemade granola bars to pack in the kid's lunches so I don't buy anything like that.

Plus, I got a ton of frozen Sam's club type veggies and threw them in the freezer, so we should have veg side dishes all month with no problem.

What is Stitch Fix? Review #1

Today I got my very first stitch fix and I'm so excited! First of all, what is it?

It's a monthly subscription clothing box. You pay $20 for a stylist to pick out some clothes for you based on height, preference, what you post on your Pinterest board, etc. They send you 5 items to try on at home with things you already own and you can pick whatever ones you want to keep. The $20 works as a credit toward anything you keep. You send back the rest and wait for your next box!

I decided to try this out because I don't really have stores for clothes shopping in my area. Plus, it's fun!

Do you want to try it out? Check it out here.

Okay, here is what I got in my first box:

They always send this cool styling card to show how to wear the clothes.

Don't mind my crazy face. These are the Mavi Freida Skinny Jeans.

Paired with the Pixley Tracy Dot Print Cross Back Knit Top

Added my jacket and the Octavia Jolene Zipper Flap Crossbody Bag.

Then I decided to pair with a skirt and …
